One of the aims of SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL is to promote the mutual understanding of the volunteers and employees through the activity in the various Samaritan organisations. Therefore, SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL offers exchange programmes on various levels between the member organisations.
The medical service exchange brings volunteers and employees together for the joint supervision of major events both on regional as well as on international level. This initially one-time cooperation for single events often leads to friendships between the parties involved and permanent partnerships between the regional Samaritan organisations.
Partnerships between regional Samaritan organisations enable cross-border social commitment. In a partnership activities can cover the mutual exchange of experiences to the joint execution of very concrete humanitarian and social projects. The exchange of experiences on the level of the local operational groups opens up new perspectives for both sides and corresponds with the basic aims of SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL to give people in distress – without consideration for political borders – help to self-help.
An exchange of volunteers which is to enable the exchange of volunteers from a two-week practical experience to volunteer services of up to one year overseas is still being prepared. |
