Foundation "West-Östliche Begegnungen" (East-West co-operation programme)

The non-commercial foundation "West-Östliche Begegnungen" promotes manifold contacts and partnerships with the Commonwealth of Independent States (abbr.: CIS) and Baltic states. The programme aims to set up and strengthen stable contacts and long-term partnerships between the people.

In the past eleven years, more than 3,200 projects were financed with a budget of EUR 7.5 million.

The projects involve exchanges of students and young people, cultural exchanges and contacts within the framework of local partnerships.

In the centre of the promotion scheme are direct contacts between the people of the above mentioned countries through project and issue-related activities.

The co-operation of the ASB Germany with the foundation "West-Östliche Begegnungen" applies to the Samaritan organisations in Russia, the Ukraine, Lithuania and Latvia.
