During the practical part the teams had to show their first aid skills at different stations in the city. Dexterity games and other plays were also on the programme. Not only first aid skills were tested but also some knowledge on the eight member countries. The theoretical part on Saturday consisted of written first aid questions.
The contest teams of the game on Friday were divided into two agae groups. In the group between 12 and 15 the German group won the day whereas in the group of participants between 16 and 26 the Hungarian team was the winner.
The contestors were not allowed to be professionals and could only help according to the training they had obtained in their respective organisations before. The differences observed by the instructors were judged fair and suitable. They will provide topics of conversation for the European Committee of First Aid Education (EC First Aid) for the purpose of a further approach in Europe.
Participants who liked to make trips in Meran and the surrounding area in their leisure time were accompanied or advsied by staff of the White Cross Youth. Apart from that, the participants were offered an interesting social and cultural programme. In order to get to know each other, every group presented a sketch, a pantomine or a song under the motto: 'The mobile phone: an opportunity to interact with other people or just a means of communication?'
The final event with the award ceremony took place on Saturday evening after a shared dinner in the marquee together with the SAINT presidium, the guests of honour, volunteers and youths of the White Cross. The day closed with live music and dance. |
