The International First Aid Youth Competition ‚SAMARITAN Contest’ is taking place every two years. The competition is organised alternately by one of the member organisations of SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL.
From the experiences of the former competitions - the first one took place in Essen (Germany) in 2006 - the rules have been revised. Each member organization can now delegate two competition teams (groups) which constitutes a new element in the implementation rules.
All youths aged between 12 and 15 (group A) and between 16 and 27 (group B) may participate in the contest as long as they are voluntary contributors to one of the SAINT organizations.
A Group A consists of three participants and one responsible custodian. It is a prerequisite that the participants have only undergone basic first aid training.
A Group B consists of five participants and a responsible custodian. It is a prerequisite that the participants have only undergone advanced first aid training of up to 100 lessons.
Professionally trained rescue workers with additional education (over 100 lessons) may not participate in the contest, since this would overtax the youth contest.
The delegation of the competition groups and their registration at the general secretarial office is planned and organised by each Samaritan organisation. |
