The activities of SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL

It lies in the interest of all member associations OF SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL to have an intensive exchange of information and experience in order to strengthen cooperation at all levels. This can only be achieved by improving and taking care of the communication between the regional and local groups of the national Samaritan organisations.

Therefore SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL supports

• the intensification of exchange of information by regular publication of our e-mail newsletter “SAMARITAN news” and our printed newsletter “SAMARITAN direct”. These two newsletters are available for all national, regional and local Samaritan organisations as well as anyone interested. They can also be found on the website of SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL.
  “SAMARITAN intern" is an e-mail service that was introduced to provide for the special fields of interest of the national Samaritan organisations.
  All three publications require input from local, regional and national Samaritan organisations, stating their current activities and challenges.
• the intensification of exchange of experience between members of SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL and the associations they support. The working groups that have been installed by the committee run workshops covering all subjects of the common fields of activities. In addition, the “SAMARITAN Forum” is held every four years in different locations. Here, a great variety of presentations and workshops is offered to all full time and voluntary members of all member associations.
• the cooperation of the national, regional and local Samaritan organisations by developing a unified standard procedure and publishing dates of further education seminars run by the member associations.
• the development of communication between regional and local groups of the national Samaritan organisations with the help of the “Partner Programme" which offers support in finding the right partner organisation. Finally, the “medical services exchange”, which facilitates the coordination of volunteers and full time staff for big events.

Finally, SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL communicates with European institutions on all current issues concerning the fields of activities of SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL, takes part in European projects on behalf of its member organisations and informs all member associations and their regional and local groups on current European developments.
