About us

Why international cooperation?

Despite all apparent technical, scientific and political progress in the past decades misery and hardship through war and disasters have not become any less. There are many problems which are uncontrollable today, pose a threat to more and more people and can be found on all continents. International work in the sense of common assistance, the exchanging of experiences and permanent partnership are the only answer to the challenges today. The countries of Europe are also growing more and more together on a political level against this background. In the course of the changing Europe the people and the companies will principally have to change their way of thinking.

The relief organisations are involved in this development process. The European Union with its headquarters in Brussels has become the biggest grantor of subsidies for projects of humanitarian aid and development cooperation in the world. In order to continue to work effectively an international base will become more and more important. The commitment of the citizens to perform voluntary social work now possible following the political revolutions in the Central and East-European states needs structures, for which no experience exists on the part of the local society. SAMARITAN INTERNATIONAL intends to make a contribution to the transfer of know-how and material support for young non-government organisations in the field of health care, in particular emergency rescue and social work.
